Mystery Babylon the Great, a city that gets destroyed in the Book of Revelation, is not a European empire headed by the Anti-Christ -
For decades most Christians have shared this view, but it's not Biblical.
According to the Bible, the Anti-Christ does not hail from the city of Mystery Babylon the Great.
He destroys it.
In 'one day and one hour' Mystery Babylon the Great is destroyed by its enemies; the Bible reports that God lets this destruction happen to bring about his wrath. In other words, because God is angry at Mystery Babylon for its wickedness, he lets it be destroyed and gives its 'kingdom' to the Anti-Christ and other nations.
Revelation 17:15-18 - "...the waters you saw, where the prostitute was seated are peoples, multitudes, nations, and languages. The 10 horns you saw, and the beast, will hate the prostitute. They will make her desolate and naked, devour her flesh, and burn her up with fire. For God has put it into their hearts to carry out His plan by having one purpose, and to give their kingdom to the beast until God's words are accomplished. And the woman you saw is the great city that has an empire over the kings of the earth."
| Is it really the end?
Many believe that a number of "signs" have to take place before the end comes; unfortunately these people are not familiar with the Bible because there is no "event" that has to take place before God's wrath on the nations starts. In Matthew 24, Jesus said the only sign that would take place would be earthquakes and storms in various places, that would become increasingly stronger and more frequent, like labor pains on a pregnant woman about to give birth. Many people, however, are waiting for the temple to be rebuilt in Jerusalem -- what they don't realize is that the temple is most likely going to be rebuilt during the Great Tribulation -- not before. Right now the Islamic Dome of the Rock is in the way. In other words, the rapture of the church will occur, and the Great Tribulation (God's wrath on the nations) will start. Then (most likely) early in the Great Tribulation the Islamic Dome of the Rock will be destroyed, and then the Jewish temple will be rebuilt; then, midway through the Great Tribulation, the Anti-Christ will break a peace covenant and seize Israel, and set himself up in the temple, and proclaim that he is God (which fulfills the "abomination of desolation" prophecy). Daniel wrote that he would then be destroyed, "but not by human hands". Shortly after is the Final Return of Christ, when he appears in the skies over the earth, with "power and great glory". He then destroys the last two remaining armies and takes control of the earth. Today, in Bible prophecy, the rapture of the church is the next thing that's going to happen. That is the "blessed hope" Christians around the world are waiting for and have been promised in the Bible. |
Now, the reason you're not hearing your church pastor warning you of this, is that your church pastor likely does not teach the entire Bible – in fact, many skip over the Book of Revelation all together, because it talks about the end times, and up until now, most people thought that the end times were a long way off.
That is a very foolish move. The first chapter of Revelation tells us that "Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near."
The last chapter repeats this.
Do you realize that Revelation is the only book in the Bible that tells us that we are actually "blessed" for reading it? It tells us twice. That's how important Revelation is.
Right now, if your pastor sat down and read Revelation – and read why Mystery Babylon the Great is destroyed – he would probably become alarmed at the wickedness of America, because it fits the description of Mystery Babylon perfectly.
In a way, pastors across the nation must be overlooking the fact that America is saturated with sexual immorality, false religions, violence, and greed – when multiple nations in the Middle East and Latin America call USA the Great Satan, they're not joking.
America is saturated with evil. And through Hollywood and the Internet, America pumps this evil out to the rest of the world.
God sees this.
Last, there is nothing given in the description of Mystery Babylon the Great that says anything about the "one world religion" that has long been attributed to it. That view, shared by many, is not Biblical.
Now, after the Anti-Christ destroys the city of Mystery Babylon the Great, he and the ten horns (ten foreign nations) take control of the entire nation (Rev. 17:17).
This is most likely when the people of the nation of Mystery Babylon are made to take the mark of the beast, in order to buy or sell. (Rev. 13:16-17)
(For the purpose of this article, think of "Mystery Babylon" as the nation that is home to the city of Mystery Babylon the Great.)
Most likely the mark won't be an actual number, but some sort of micro-chip implant under the skin that identifies each person.
Coincidentally, on August 1, 2007, CNN announced that the technology to micro-chip humans has arrived.
James 5:1-5 - Now listen, you rich people, weep and wail because of the misery that is coming upon you. Your wealth has rotted, and moths have eaten your clothes. Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and eat your flesh like fire. You have hoarded wealth in the last days. Look! The wages you failed to pay the workmen who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty. You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves in the day of slaughter. You have condemned and murdered innocent men, who were not opposing you.
If you read Revelation 18, and the description given of Mystery Babylon the Great, it sounds a lot like the description given in James 5:1-5...
And the description given in James 5:1-5 sounds a lot like America.
More specifically, it appears to describe rich, evil men who run major corporations.
Think Wall Street.
It's possible that there are men behind America's corporations that are more evil than any of us realize. God states they have condemned and murdered innocent men, who were not opposing them. So, while they may have gotten away with murder and corruption in society -- God brings judgment on them, apparently at a time they're living in peace and security -- when there's "slaughter" happening elsewhere in the world.
Which sounds a lot like today.
The apostle Paul, when talking about the beginning of the Great Tribulation, which is God's wrath on the nations that is expected to last seven years, said:
1 Thessalonians 5:2 - "The Day of the Lord will come just as a thief in the night. When they say "Peace and security," then sudden destruction comes on them."
Sexual immorality has corrupted adults across the mass population, and increasingly its corrupting many children. Not only that, so many adults prey on children today we can't even keep count. Teachers and students. Sex predators and Myspace. Child pornographers and pedophiles.
If you thought things couldn't look any worse for America, you're wrong:
Recently, WorldNetDaily reports that a Homosexual "Sex" Festival took place in San Francisco, going so far as to mock the Last Supper of Christ; there's no need to repeat what WorldNetDaily reported, but rest assured I don't think humans can possibly be any more wicked than the "group" activities of the numerous homosexuals in San Francisco; the San Francisco Chronicle even described the festival as their version of "Disneyland".
Next to the Nazis and the murder of over 6 million Jews, the homosexuals of San Francisco are probably the second worst society in human history, and from what is being reported at WorldNetDaily, they seem to be at the height of their wickedness.
For those of you who have any doubts that America is Mystery Babylon, and New York City is Mystery Babylon the Great, read up on just how wicked San Francisco has become. Nowadays, when hundreds of men get together for a weekend event in San Francisco, there's a good chance that watching sports is not on the agenda – instead, pushing wickedness to the limit is.
From what I read on WorldNetDaily, the homosexuals (many who come from across America) who descend on this city are going crazy with their wickedness. San Francisco is a literal paradise for demons.
Is it any coincidence that Paul Williams' book, The Day of Islam: The Annihilation of America and the Western World, reports that San Francisco is one of the cities Bin Laden is planning on destroying with a terrorist detonated nuclear weapon?
America is the land of false gods. There are more gods in America, than any other nation by far. However, these aren't actual gods. The Bible reports that the gods of other religions are demons impersonating gods.
Apparently, no one told our nation's president.

Throughout the Old Testament God destroys or has enemies destroy people who follow other gods. In Bible prophecy, he promises to bring judgment once again on nations that have turned their backs on him.
America, under the guise of Freedom of Religion, has been infiltrated with numerous gods, and numerous religions, and God's people (former Christians) have been turning to these other gods.
America was founded under God and blessed by God, but it has clearly turned to other gods as we saw on July 12, 2007 when a Hindu prayer was said in the U.S. Senate (up until that time the daily prayer had always been said to God), and at the beginning of January, 2007 when Congress swore in a new representative holding the Koran (before that date every Congressman had been sworn in holding a Bible).
Revelation 17:6 - "...and I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her I wondered with great admiration."
Revelation 18:24 - "...and in her was found all the blood of the prophets, and the saints, and of all who were slain on the earth."
I've received emails pointing this out, and I have to say this: There is no nation on earth that can claim the blood of all the prophets, and the saints, and all who were slain on earth, nor will there be a 'future' country that can make that claim.
This must represent some kind of ideology: For example, "Power". Or, "Greed". Or "Envy".
In Matthew 27:18 and 27:31, the Bible reports that Jesus is handed over for persecution because of "Envy". In Acts 5:17, the apostles are handed over because of "Jealousy".
So, as an ideology, would "Jealousy" or "Envy" apply to New York City? Considering that money, power, and greed make the Big Apple everything that it is, I would say this applies.
Now look at:
James 3:16 - For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.
Well, New York City (and the majority of modern-day America) is full of envy and selfish ambition. So, in the words of James, here we find disorder and every evil practice.
Look around. Sin City isn't just Las Vegas any more.
Sin City has spread to the entire nation.
Look at how many reports make national news about children and pedophiles, then realize that America's porn saturated computers feed the growth of these pedophiles.
Look at what Jesus said:
Matthew 18:6 - But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.
Then, look at one of the descriptions of the destruction of Mystery Babylon the Great in Revelation:
Revelation 18:21 - Then a mighty angel picked up a boulder the size of a large millstone and threw it into the sea, and said:
"With such violence
the great city of Babylon will be thrown down,
never to be found again."
Well, if the great city of Babylon causes the downfall of children that follow Christ, its destruction will be like a millstone thrown into the sea.
Now, look closely at American society: Through the internet, pornography has corrupted millions of people, including children. Now, consider the large amounts of child pornography. Last, consider the stings set up by Dateline NBC which expose the large numbers of adults online who hunt children.
Then, consider the music industry, that corrupts children by glamorizing sex, violence, and greed. Year after year, it has gotten worse and worse.
Children growing up in today's America are very likely to be corrupted by society at a very young age.
Welcome to Babylon.
Now in 2007, we see strange weather all over the globe. We've seen an increase in the number of earthquakes in the month of August. Tornados touched down in Connecticut and Brooklyn, New York. We have record breaking wildfires and heatwaves around the globe.
Floods everywhere. The U.K, Africa, Asia, America.
We see Radical Islam on the march, across the Middle East, Europe, and in America, where over 80% of mosques are reported to have been radicalized, and that on September 9 in New York City will be the annual Muslim Day Parade, which is reported to be backed by interests linked with terror groups – the same terror groups that are planning to detonate a nuclear weapon in one or more U.S. cities.

America has received repeated warnings this summer from Al Qaida that a "spectacular" attack is coming, and American Muslims have received repeated warnings since 2003 to flee major U.S. cities.

There's a good chance that on September 9, 2007, when tens of thousands of Muslims are gathered for the annual Muslim Day Parade in New York City, that some kind of warning is going to go out – flee major U.S. cities by a certain date.
Or that warning will simply come in a new Al-Qaida tape. Like this one:

Planet Earth may soon find itself in the period known by most Christians as "The Tribulaton".
In the Book of Daniel, God calls this period the Time of Wrath.
Matthew 24:21 - For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now – and never to be equaled again. If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened.
The fact that the President of Iran begins / ends his speeches by openly praying for the coming of the "Promised one", the Islamic Messiah who will bring "peace" – after a period of war, chaos, and bloodshed, and the destruction of Islam's enemies (like America) – should be a wake up call to not put this off.
Take this as a warning to the world that the Anti-Christ will soon be on the scene.
Finally, take a close look at Revelation:
| Is Revelation 18:4 a 'rapture'?
Let's compare Revelation 18:4 with the rapture of the resurrected 'Two Witnesses' - Revelation 11:11-12 - Now after the three-and-a-half days the breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and great fear fell on those who saw them. And they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, "Come up here." And they ascended to heaven in a cloud, and their enemies saw them. When God says "Come out of her my people" in 18:4 as Mystery Babylon is destroyed, this is strikingly similar to what he says in Revelation 11:12 that brings the Two Witnesses up to Heaven, as their enemies watch. We know that verse 11:12 is a definite rapture. Conclusion: The similarities between passages give evidence that 18:4 is also a rapture (I believe it's the rapture of the church, as 'sudden destruction' hits the world to mark the the beginning of the Great Tribulation). Still not sure? Well, Revelation 14:6-8 puts the destruction of Mystery Babylon at the beginning of the Tribulation. Which is when the rapture occurs. |
Chapters 2 and 3 are very important. God makes it clear who will be in the rapture of the church, and who will not be in it.
Revelation 10 is powerful – God shouts that "there will be no more delay", and that the mystery he revealed to the prophets will now be fulfilled.
I believe this is the rapture. When John eats the scroll, it's sweet in his mouth, but sour in his stomach. Well, for those in the rapture, it will be a very, very sweet moment. However, for those left behind, it is going to be very, very sour. The rapture of the church is going to create a lot of mixed emotions. For those left behind, who could have been taken, it will be a devastating moment.
