It turns out that the number one reason why these Generation Z recruits keep dying on the battlefield on day one is they cannot get it out of their head that they cannot respawn if they are killed in action.
Respawn, a term very well known to just about all Generation Z, refers to dying in a video game and immediately coming back to life to continue playing.
This just in, we actually have audio recording of a platoon leader trying to give commands to his unit as they're taking heavy fire while pinned down behind a building. "LISTEN KNUCKLEHEADS, STOP ASKING ME WHERE YOU'RE GOING TO RESPAWN IF YOU GET SHOT. WE DON'T RESPAWN."
"Stop with your lies, sir. I've respawned thousands of times. And please stop yelling. My therapist says I have to have boundaries. That is abusive language and does not build me up."
Murmurs supporting the young soldier come from the group of other soldiers alongside. "You are hurting his feelings please stop," a soft voice says as another round of gunfire strikes nearby.
The platoon leader barks something into his radio. He looks at the group. He shakes his head. He unclips a grenade, pulls the pin, drops it at their feet and casually walks off.
He turns the corner around a blown up and deserted tank as there's an explosion behind him. He says into his radio, "I'm going to need a few more soldiers... This time send me some migrants... Yeah, the ones from Columbia."
